Regular Physiotherapy and Underwater Treadmill Treatment Gives Crippled Dog New Life

Regular Physiotherapy and Underwater Treadmill Treatment Gives Crippled Dog New  A disabled bulldog named Ronnie was given treatment of physiotherapy and submerged exercises so that he can walk as any other dog and lead a normal pain-free life.

Ronnie was just four-months-old when he was rescued from his earlier abusive owner and was admitted to veterinary hospital as he was unable to walk properly due to his under-grown front legs.

Ronnie used to feel constant pain in his paws because he has to crawl to move from one place to other. The problem is said to emerge due to having wrong meals given by his earlier master. But the poor dog has been loved by the vets at Cardiff who are nursing him with a complex rehabilitation program known as Carpal Flexural Limb Deformity, so that Ronnie can survive with his problem.

The dog is given yoga sessions followed by water therapy in which a life jacket is put on him and is placed on a underwater treadmill so that the his body weight can be put off his legs and he can walk in greater speed.

And after the workout, he is also given 20 minutes of acupuncture which helps relax his muscles. He is able to walk after three weeks of this treatment and doctors suggest that his body parts will be fully grown in 18 months after which he would be able to lead just the normal life. Abigail John, veterinary nurse at Croeso has shown interest in adopting him.
